A claim tallies ↑supports / ↓attacks from its incoming edges; a gate shows an advisory supported / partial / contradicted status.
From the attack graph: stands (every attacker defeated), defeated (an attacker stands), contested (unresolved). Only contradicts / rebuts / undercuts attack; supports never defeat.
Each edge has an impact you set (1–5, drawn as line weight) — the board never infers it. Attacks of 3+ defeat; 1–2 are noted in the tally but don't topple a claim.
A board collects evidence and builds an argument. Pin a line from the left, or right-click the canvas to add a note or a claim.
Later pages cover the deeper features; none of them are required.
Boards are stored in this browser.
Select a card, drag from the dot on its edge, and drop on another card. Click the line to change the relation.
A claim carries a verdict: open, plausible, confirmed, debunked. Verdicts are authored and never overwritten.
A gate (diamond) combines its premises with AND / OR / NOT / XOR and shows a derived supported / partial / contradicted.
Lines and clips are facts, claims are opinions, gates are arguments.
Make the thing you are defending a Claim; it can sit at open while you build. Put the evidence under it — lines, clips, art. Evidence is a fact, so argue in the claim, not in an evidence card.
Wire each piece to what it bears on: supports if it helps, contradicts / rebuts if it hurts, undercuts if it attacks the reasoning rather than the claim. Set every link's impact yourself — 1–2 are noted, 3 is normal, 4–5 are strong, and only attacks of 3+ can defeat a claim.
When several reasons only work together, run them into a gate (AND) and point the gate at the claim. Then read the labels and revise: add the missing premise, downgrade a link you don't believe, or answer the strongest attack. The loop is claim → evidence → links → impact → read → revise.
From the attack graph a claim is STANDS (every attacker defeated), DEFEATED (an attacker stands) or CONTESTED (unresolved), with an ↑supports / ↓attacks tally. These labels are computed, display-only, and never change the verdict you wrote.
.board file plus a flat image.Spoiler-marked lines export locked unless Bake spoilers is on. The embedded PNG is fragile; chat platforms strip the board from it.
